Delight in perishability
Everything wonderful that shows up in our lives is perishable. The shelf life is short. That beautiful cabernet at dinner last night. The close friends we talk to every day. All the riches – large or small – we possess.
Living well is finding delight in what eventually goes away. Delight in being the temporary recipient and caretaker of the ephemeral – everything we enjoy, all we consider valuable and important in our lives. They are temporary; they won’t be around forever. Nor will we.
Why not step back and take the time to discover delight in all we experience and possess? Smile, laugh, be thankful. The journey is about getting more miles out of every day.
