Familiar is not necessarily right.
Unfamiliar is not necessarily wrong.
Newer is not always better,
And the grass is not always greener.
A bird in hand
Is worth two in the bush.
It can be easy to stick to what we know, habits and familiar routines. The unfamiliar can feel strange, new and exciting, intimidating or frightening or wrong. We can feel stuck in ruts with lives that don’t feel quite right, wishing for a different life.
Or maybe what we already have is truly worth more than the trials of ambition towards fantasies. Maybe it’s better to be present, work with what you’ve got, love the one you’re with, and practice gratitude.
Or maybe you’re afraid to move on.
Familiar isn’t automatically right.
Unfamiliar isn’t automatically wrong.
Sometimes “new” is just novelty. Sometimes it’s freedom.
Sometimes what you have is good enough to build a life. Sometimes it’s a cage.
It’s easy to confuse restlessness with truth.
It’s also easy to confuse comfort with wisdom.
So the question isn’t “stay” or “go.”
It’s: are you choosing from wisdom and love… or from laziness and fear?
