What’s next on the list?
You benefit from doing something rather than nothing when you are stuck, unable to see a way through the problem in front of you.
You now have a choice: hyperfocus on the obstacle, let the problem grow larger, or move to the next item on your list.
The next task interrupts the loop, giving your mind another surface to grip. It helps recharge the circuits in your brain and restore the feeling of forward motion. You may not immediately solve the first problem, but you reclaim your momentum. Momentum will reveal solutions.
Progress is not always a straight line toward the answer. Sometimes it is simply the decision to keep moving and give your brain time to noodle in the background on the first problem.
