The good kind of failure

“Sometimes failure gets you closer to where you want to be.” – Michael Jordan

Stories abound of those whose early success led to later mediocrity.  The high school valedictorian who later drops out of college and ends up in life circumstances well below potential.  The examples go on and on.  Hitting the lottery too soon comes with a price.

Disappointment, challenge and frustration force our brain to find new and novel ways to deal with problems. They teach us to become resourceful, to appreciate the value of discipline and habit, to cultivate a mindset of persistence.

Learn to appreciate the journey when you walk through fire; and remember, when you walk through fire, keep going.
