“It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard…is what makes it great.” – Jimmy Dugan (the Tom Hanks character) in A League of Their Own
There’s a lot of hard work, sometimes coupled with misery, in creating a masterpiece – you. If you want to become more, become great – however defined – you must expect and be ready to embrace difficulty and challenge. You must persist beyond the rough patches, deal with pain and frustration, and be ready to get uncomfortable – really uncomfortable.
Alternatively, you can sit on the comfy sofa, turn on Entertainment Tonight or similar mental medication, and zone out. But remember, as you zone out, your vision, your dreams, will begin to fade into the background, eventually indistinguishable from the walls of the safe and secure box you’ve built around yourself.
You decide.
