I can’t change the world until I change myself. I can’t change myself until I change my habits.
A thousand words, six days a week, is a good start for writing. Every field, every passion you want to purse, has its own metrics for achieving excellence. You have to find those metrics, talk to people, read, and discover what can work for you. You then have to follow the routines – do the work every day – to make what you want happen.
Otherwise, it won’t.
