“Take the time to pause.”
Every so often – maybe once an hour, maybe twice a day – you need to pause, think, and refocus.
You can become so focused on a task, or a stream of tasks, that you find yourself pulled in a direction, or path, you didn’t want to pursue. You find yourself being pulled in a direction no longer aligned with your goals for the hour, or the day, or maybe your life. You find yourself getting sucked into the black vortex of momentum.
Master positive interruption. Pause. Take the time – and it can be mere seconds – to step back and think about where you’re going. Think about whether you’re working smart or just working. Think about your goals. Think about the path you’re on, and then check your compass.
