“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” – Joseph Campbell
Some haven’t figured out that being who they are is a privilege. It’s a privilege in spite of imperfections, or – more likely – because of imperfections. But they wish they were someone else. They wish they were more successful. They wish they could be transported into different circumstances, or live within the world of another seemingly more fortunate than they. They believe that if they could place themselves in the position of someone else they could experience life at a higher level.
There’s no balance sheet in life, no scorecard that ensures everyone gets fair and equal treatment, that everyone is awarded the same or similar starting points and circumstances. Life can be – no, life is – unfair. So get over it.
But everyone on this planet has something in common – 24 hours, every day. 24 hours, delivered daily, to make a life changing difference. There are those who whine, and those who get to work on their 24 hours. They are the ones who discover the privilege of a lifetime.
