Robert Kiyosaki‘s books are “meant to be more of a motivational tool to get readers thinking about money, rather than a step-by-step guide to wealth.” (Wiki) In my opinion, this first illuminating step is a requirement for any successful journey. I’m currently reading Rich Dad’s Guide to Investing and have shared some of my initial notes and ideas below.

:::WEALTH & HAPPINESS:::
Wealth does not guarantee happiness.
Rich people can be unhappy.
Poor people can be happy.
It has been shown that money correlates to happiness but quickly reaches a limit (likely somewhere around middle class). Of course, statistics demonstrate averages. Are you average?
Ask yourself:
Am I willing to be insecure and uncomfortable in order to be rich?
The time, effort and risks you will need to invest on your journey to becoming rich will not always make you feel secure or comfortable. Academia teaches us to be accurate; real world success requires taking calculated risks and learning from our mistakes. Rich does not come from education alone; rich comes from extended, calculated effort and unfaltering, self-discipline.
What is the cost of becoming rich?
:::PRIORITIES:::
Most people have this order of priorities:
1. Secure
2. Comfortable
3. Rich
And they never move from one to the next due to lack of financial education and fear.
To be rich, this must be the order of your priorities:
1. Rich
2. Comfortable
3. Secure
Yet, you will get rich by planning in the following order:
1. Secure
2. Comfortable
3. Rich
