“The man who does not value himself, cannot value anything or anyone.” – Ayn Rand
You cannot be of important value to others until you can first be of value to yourself. You cannot be of value to yourself until you first learn to love and care for you. Cultivate enlightened selfishness. Selfishness not in the sense of abusing or taking unfair advantage of others, but in the sense of nurturing your body, mind and soul.
You cannot become the remarkable, outer-focused person you dream about until you become inner-focused, until you learn to exclude what doesn’t support your goals, your ambitions, your dreams. Like all high achievers, recognize that in order to reach optimal performance you must take care of you first. Until you take care of you, you cannot make a significant difference in their lives of others.
When you learn to cultivate enlightened selfishness, you are then able to unleash your highest potential; and everyone benefits.
