The cost of comfort

“Alas for those that never sing, But die with all their music in them!” – Oliver Wendell Holmes

When you organize your life to avoid doing all the uncomfortable stuff, your world shrinks.

Safe and familiar leads to small and inconsequential.  The more you insist on escaping pain and difficulty, the more you become trapped in your own tiny universe – the walls close in.

The antidote to living small is the act – your daily act – of embracing difficulty, confronting pain, and moving forward toward possibility.  Why pay the terrible price of not leaving your comfort zone?
