A most underrated capacity

“I changed my mind.”

If you never update or refresh your opinions and conclusions, you could be stuck, you could be stubborn. Worse, you could be wrong.

Stuck and stubborn are at least visible from the inside if you’re honest with yourself, but being wrong without knowing it is the one that costs you.

To revisit and confront beliefs is a critical life skill.  You can’t revisit a belief if you’re unwilling to admit it might be wrong, and you won’t bother if you’re not curious what might be true.

But revisiting beliefs without a sense of what matters isn’t growth, it’s drifting.

Are you updating, or just drifting?
