Gratitude

“Who’s packing your parachute?” – Charlie Plumb

Charlie Plumb was a Navy F-4 fighter pilot during the Vietnam War.  After 75 missions, he was shot down, and parachuted to safety, only to be imprisoned by the North Vietnamese for almost six years.  Later in life, well after the war, he quite-by-accident encountered a former sailor, who recounted that he packed Charlie’s parachute the day he was shot down.  Charlie realized that  this ordinary sailor, doing his day-to-day job deep within the aircraft carrier – someone whom Charlie had never previously met – had saved his life.

Pay attention to what’s going on around you, and always be grateful.  Someone, somewhere, is packing your parachute.
