“Many complain of their looks, few of their brains.” – Sally Koslow, from Little Pink Slips
We nourish our bodies, yet starve our minds. We spend vast sums to enhance our outer state, yet skimp on developing our inner selves. We spend hours at the gym, or spa, or hair stylist. We thoughtfully select our wardrobe, and embrace specific brands of cosmetics. Yes, they are important considerations. Yet our bookshelves are bare. The time we spend in quality reading, in contemplation, in deeper conversation and meditation, is too often minimized. Our ability to imagine, to create, to think beyond ourselves is at risk.
Find balance. Pick up the book. Engage in thoughtful conversation. Register for the class or seminar. Set out to learn, to discover, to grow – in essence, to add value to yourself, to become the fully rounded person of culture, sophistication and excellence.
